Guelph Girls U15 Toyota National Championships Run
Thanksgiving weekend was an exciting one for Guelph as our Girls U15 (2009) Jr. Gryphons Academy team proudly competed in the 2024 Canada Soccer Toyota National Championships U15 Cup held in Quinte West, ON from October 9th to 14th, 2024. The U15 cup is the largest amateur team sport competition in the country, bringing together the top female and male teams from each province across Canada.
As Ontario’s girls team representative in the U15 National Championships, Guelph played one match per day from October 9th to 12th, going head-to-head with teams from Prince Edward Island, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
With a remarkable performance throughout the tournament, Guelph finished group play with 3 wins and 1 loss, finishing with a total of 9 points and tied for first place in their group.
With Saskatoon Alliance holding the head-to-head win over Guelph, which determined the group winner, Guelph was set to compete in the Bronze Medal game against Suburban FC from Nova Scotia.
Guelph showcased great skill, determination, and passion, leaving everything on the field the entire tournament. Their 3-0 victory over Suburban FC earned them the U15 Cup Bronze Medal, a reflection of their hard work and dedication throughout the course of their season.
Congratulations to our Girls U15 Academy team for bringing home the Bronze Medal and representing Guelph with pride!
